Renal clearance - II


As i said earlier renal clearance is used to measure glomerular filteration rate. GFR is a good measurement of renal functions. If this is low, that means there can be some underlying caused or a disease related to that.

According to the equation in the previous post, if there is a substance that is neither absorbed or nor secreted, then all of the filtered amount will be in urine. So if we apply the values of that substance to the clearance equation and get the clearance of that substance, then the clearance should be equal to the GFR.
